After years of investigations, in January 2020 the state attorney and attorney-general of Israel filed an indictment against the serving Israeli prime-minister Benjamin Netanyahu which included three main cases with the assigned numbers 1000, 2000 and 4000.

In the case dubbed as case-4000, it was stated that 315 “press coverage events” constituted a bribe given by Shaul and Iris Elovitch, the owners of Bezeq (Israeli telecommunications company).
